Job Description

General Summary:
Experienced bilingual Medical Assistant needed for busy OB/GYN office. Essential Job Assist in ob/gyn office procedures and minor surgical procedures. Assist with the education of the patient as directed by the physician. Perform venipuncture and injections under the direction of a physician or advance care practitioner. Contact patients to discuss results and provide instructions as directed by the physician. Answer telephone inquiries and triage calls. Assist with patient examinations and treatment. Room patients, take vital signs and input into EMR system. Perform office procedures, including IUD insertions/removals, Nexplanon removals and insertions, colposcopies, and Hysteroscopy. Returning messages, reviewing test results over the phone Cleaning, preparing, and stocking exam, treatment, and medication rooms for daily activity Familiarity with Next Gen EMR, medical tools and equipment Compassionate and caring demeanor Excellent verbal and written communication skills OB/GYN medical and anatomy knowledge Monitors office supply inventory and ordering, and offices are opened and closed according to procedures Supports and upholds established policies, procedures, objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection control, and coded and requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies (HIPAA/OSHA) Ensures all facility and equipment is maintained and up to standard Performs all other duties assigned
Education and Experience:
Preferred 2 years of experience in obstetrics and gynecology or 2+ years in a medical office setting CPR Certification- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Medical Assistant Certification or higher Must be flexible to travel to secondary office in
Ocoee Performance Requirements:
Knowledge:
Knowledge of medical practices and terminology. Knowledge of basic medical coding. Knowledge of policies and procedures to accurately answer questions from internal and external customers. Broad-based knowledge of relevant insurance regulations and familiarity with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. Knowledge of Health Insurance plans and contracting.
Skills:
Bilingual (Spanish and English) Skill in planning, organizing, delegating, critical thinking and supervising. Skill in evaluating the effectiveness of existing methods and procedures. Skill in problem solving. Skill in verbal and written communication.
Abilities:
Ability to read, interprets, and applies policies and procedures. Ability to set priorities among multiple requests. Ability to interact with patients, medical and administrative staff, and the public effectively. Ability to communicate both in writing and verbally. Must be bilingual - Spanish and English proficiently.
