Job Description
Duties include but not limited to: Blood draws for certain procedures Rooming patients and recording vital information and medical history Assisting the podiatrist with examinations and procedures Cleaning, dressing, and bandaging wounds Preparing instruments and maintaining sterile technique Removing sutures or applying casts/boots/foam impressions (as allowed by state law and clinic policy) Educating patients on foot care, diabetic foot care, and post-procedure instructions as instructed by provider Scheduling appointments and assisting with phones when needed Obtaining prior authorizations on medications when needed Documenting patient visits in the electronic medical record (EMR) Cleaning and stocking exam rooms and supplies daily Important skills include: Excellent organization and multitasking Strong communication and customer service Knowledge of infection control and medical terminology Experience with EMR systems Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Must be able to travel as we do have multiple offices
