Internal Medicine / Primary Care Position Overview We are seeking an experienced, dependable, and highly motivated Certified Medical Assistant to join our internal medicine practice. The ideal candidate is professional, organized, comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment, and committed to providing excellent patient care. This position requires prior medical assisting experience and an active Medical Assistant certification . We are looking for someone who can confidently manage both clinical and administrative responsibilities while working closely with physicians, providers, and other members of our healthcare team. Key Responsibilities Room patients efficiently and accurately obtain vital signs Review and update patient medications, allergies, medical history, and pharmacy information Document the patient's chief complaint and prepare the chart for the provider Assist physicians and providers with examinations and in-office procedures Perform EKGs, injections, ABIs, and other routine clinical procedures Perform phlebotomy and properly prepare laboratory specimens Administer medications and injections as directed by the provider and within scope of practice Prepare examination rooms between patients Clean, disinfect, and maintain clinical equipment and patient-care areas Communicate provider instructions and follow-up information to patients Assist with referrals, prior authorizations, laboratory orders, and patient scheduling Document patient communications accurately Maintain patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements Perform additional clinical and administrative duties as needed Required Qualifications Current Medical Assistant certification required - CMA (AAMA), RMA (AMT), CCMA (NHA), NCMA (NCCT), or equivalent nationally recognized Medical Assistant certification Previous Medical Assistant experience required High school diploma or equivalent Strong knowledge of medical terminology Experience obtaining and documenting accurate vital signs Experience with injections, EKGs, and routine clinical procedures Strong phlebotomy experience Experience working with an Electronic Health Record (EHR/EMR) system Strong computer and documentation skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a busy medical office Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Dependable, punctual, and professional Preferred Qualifications 2+ years of Medical Assistant experience Previous experience in internal medicine, family medicine, or primary care Experience with Practice Fusion and/or AdvancedMD Experience with referrals and prior authorizations Experience in a high-volume outpatient medical practice What We're Looking For The successful candidate will be someone who communicates effectively, and understands the importance of keeping a medical office running efficiently. Schedule Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Compensation Competitive pay based on experience and qualifications Certification is required for this position. Applicants who do not currently hold a recognized Medical Assistant certification will not be considered.
