We provide consultation, treatment, and follow-up care to patients referred to our specialty by the primary care physicians of the Treasure Coast and surrounding communities. As hematology and oncology specialists, we diagnose and treat all types of blood diseases and cancer. We have extensive special training in the treatment of blood disorders and in the entire spectrum of cancer care. Job Description:
Hematology-Oncology Associates of the Treasure Coast (HOATC) is seeking a caring and compassionate full-time Medical Assistant with phlebotomy experience. The Medical Assistant may have to work in the various offices based on our six physician's schedules. Our offices are located in n Port Saint Lucie, Saint Lucie West, Stuart and Ft Pierce, Florida. HOATC is a private physician group specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of all types of blood diseases and cancer. The mission of Hematology-Oncology Associates of the Treasure Coast is to provide high quality, cost-effective healthcare to all our patients. We treat all patients with warmth, respect, and dignity and provide care that is both necessary and appropriate. Responsibilities:
1. Coordinate and maintain patient flow during practice hours by assisting the doctors and nurses in patient care. 2. Maintain and document patient visits. 3. Interview and observe patients to ascertain medical history and current condition. 4. Review patient records. 5. Assess patient's current condition and pain level; alerts physician or nurse to immediate or acute situations. 6. Obtain blood samples; prepare lab specimens when indicated. Requirements High School Diploma/ GED Medical Assistant certification required Certification in basic CPR BLS certification required Minimum 1 year phlebotomy experience, phlebotomy certification preferred Minimum 1 year experience in a clinical medical setting (Oncology preferred) Experience taking vital signs, EKG, weight, and height Lab processing knowledge and experience #hemoncsj
