Working alongside interventional radiologists and advanced practice providers, you will support patients throughout their treatment journey—from consultation and procedure preparation to recovery and follow-up care. Responsibilities Welcome and prepare patients for consultations and interventional procedures by obtaining medical histories, reviewing medications and allergies, and recording vital signs. Prepare examination and procedure rooms, ensuring sterile supplies, instruments, and equipment are available and ready for each procedure. Assist providers during office visits, ultrasound-guided procedures, and minimally invasive vascular and interventional treatments while maintaining strict sterile technique. Support patients undergoing procedures under X-ray guidance. Provide pre-procedure and post-procedure patient education, including procedure preparation, medication instructions, recovery expectations, activity restrictions, and follow-up care. Assist with patient positioning, procedure setup, dressing application, and post-procedure recovery while monitoring patient comfort and communicating any concerns to the clinical team. Document patient encounters, procedure preparation, treatment plans, and follow-up instructions accurately within the Electronic Health Record (EHR). Coordinate scheduling for consultations, procedures, imaging studies, and follow-up appointments while ensuring all required documentation, laboratory results, and authorizations are completed. Maintain inventory of medical supplies and procedure room equipment while adhering to infection prevention, radiation safety, OSHA, and HIPAA standards. Monitor and maintain inventory of medical supplies, sterile instruments, and procedural equipment, notifying leadership of shortages and assisting with supply management.
Experience:
Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a physician practice, outpatient clinic, or procedural specialty is required. Previous experience in Vascular & Interventional Radiology, vascular surgery, interventional cardiology, surgery, or another procedural specialty is strongly preferred. Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR), medical documentation, patient scheduling, and insurance authorizations. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, sterile technique, infection prevention, and patient education. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Excellent organizational, communication, and patient service skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinical environment. Strong attention to detail, professionalism, and a commitment to providing safe, compassionate, high-quality patient care.
