Job Description
Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Front Desk/Medical Assistant, where your energy and dedication will directly impact patient care and clinic efficiency. In this vital role, you will serve as the first point of contact for patients, ensuring a welcoming environment while providing essential medical support. Your expertise in medical procedures, administrative support, and patient service will help streamline clinic operations and foster positive patient experiences. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and manage check-in/check-out processes efficiently using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems. Assist with patient intake by recording vital signs, updating medical histories, and preparing patients for examinations or procedures. Support clinical staff by performing basic medical tasks such as phlebotomy, administering medications under supervision, and monitoring patient vitals. Manage medical documentation accurately, including charting in EMR/EHR systems, ICD coding, and maintaining organized medical records. Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers by scheduling appointments, answering inquiries, and coordinating follow-up care. Ensure the cleanliness and readiness of exam rooms and medical equipment while adhering to infection control protocols. Support hospital medicine or outpatient services with knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology, and emergency procedures when needed. Requirements Prior experience in a medical office environment or clinical setting with proficiency in medical administrative support and patient service. Knowledge of dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine, or emergency medicine is highly desirable. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent is required; additional certifications such as phlebotomy or medication administration are a plus. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems and electronic health records management is essential for accurate documentation. Strong understanding of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and pharmacology to support clinical tasks effectively. Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide compassionate patient care across diverse populations including geriatrics or inpatient settings. Ability to work efficiently in high-pressure environments such as Level I or Level II trauma centers or urgent care facilities.
