Job Description

Medical Assistant We are looking for a medical assistant to join our team.
OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
A multi-skilled health professional who works independently with other health care professionals to provide quality healthcare to each patient. Medical assistants/LPNs are required to perform administrative as well and clinical duties. Ability to prioritize workflow and tasks. Strong decision-making and organizational skills. Ability to take direction from Providers and Managers. Detail oriented with strong communication and a reliable work ethic. Provide clear and concise medical documentation in patient charts.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Timely manage and coordinate patient flow on a daily basis to ensure limited patient wait times. Room patients and obtain vitals, accurately review current medications and allergies and update in Electronic Health Record System. Process phone calls in a polite manner without allowing the phone to ring more than 3 times before answering (may place call on hold if necessary). Schedule patients for procedures/imaging/labs. Follow up on patient's workup as ordered by Providers to ensure patient results are called back in a timely manner. Send messages to Providers when patient results are back. Process Schedule follow up appointments with Providers. Import faxes to patient charts, all faxes should be imported to patient charts by the end of the same business day received. Process medication refills within 2 days of receiving refill request. Process flags and phone notes in a timely manner. Normal flags should be processed within 3 business days. Important flags within 24 hours of receiving and urgent flags must be completed the same business day. Process outgoing referrals in a timely manner dependent upon the referring physician's office protocol as ordered by Providers. Review medical records folder in EHR every 2 days and sign off on documents as needed. Request medical records prior to patient appointments and after patient appointments for timely continuation of care. Manage Provider schedule. •Other duties as assigned Come join our team!
