are actively recruiting for experienced Medical Assistants to assist in the care of Surgery Center patients. To greet patients in a professional, courteous manner and obtain and document pertinent medical and ophthalmic patient history on the appropriate forms.Essential Job Functions:
Provide optimum assurance of safe surgical environment. Check preoperative and PACU areas, materials and equipment for appropriate patient care. Ensures clean, safe environment through continued alertness to safety, explosive hazards and aseptic techniques. Maintain appropriate levels of office supplies and other materials to allow staff to complete assigned responsibilities and provides for patient needs by submitting approved purchase requisitions. Assists in control of traffic and personnel to ensure proper control of infection and asepsis. Transport patients for discharge. Discontinue IV catheter as directed by nurse. Assists in efficient turnover by performing patient care responsibilities in timely, efficient manner. Clean stretchers according to infection control policy Respect and understand the patient right to treatment and right to involvement in treatment decisions. Obtain vital signs for preoperative and postoperative phase.- Participate in staff education programs Participate in Surgery Center quality improvement activities.
- Ability to speak, understand and write fluent English

Minimum Education Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.- Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
