Category Laboratory - Pathology Assistant Job Type Contract Begin a rewarding contract opportunity supporting an advanced laboratory team focused on delivering exceptional pathology services. This role offers hands-on experience and the chance to contribute directly to patient care by supporting accurate diagnostic results.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide essential support to pathologists through the gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens. Prepare and submit tissue samples for histological analysis, ensuring precision and compliance with laboratory protocols. Assist in autopsy procedures by preparing specimens, documenting findings, and maintaining detailed records. Maintain organization and safety within the laboratory setting, adhering strictly to regulatory guidelines. Communicate effectively with laboratory staff, pathologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure efficient workflow. Participate in quality control processes and continual process improvement initiatives.
Qualifications and Experience:
Completion of a Pathologist Assistant training program or equivalent education and experience in a laboratory setting. Demonstrated expertise in grossing, specimen dissection, and tissue sample preparation. Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and best practices in handling biohazard materials. Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards. Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration within a team environment. Certification as a Pathologist Assistant (ASCP) preferred. Why Apply?
