Medical Assistant (MA or CMA) - Primary Care | Monday-Friday | No WeekendsJob Description We're hiring an experienced Medical Assistant to support a primary care clinic focused on internal medicine and geriatrics. This role blends clinical and administrative responsibilities, working closely with providers to deliver efficient, high-quality patient care. You'll be part of a small, collaborative team in a calm, patient-focused environment where communication, organization, and attention to detail are key. This is a great opportunity for an MA who enjoys building patient relationships while staying hands-on clinically.
Key Responsibilities Clinical Duties:
+ Room patients, ensure comfort, and prepare them for provider exams + Obtain and document vital signs (BP, temp, height, weight, etc.) + Review visit purpose and document symptoms/history in EMR + Verify medications, allergies, and patient demographics + Prepare and stock exam rooms between patients + Ensure labs and diagnostics are available prior to visits + Assist with follow-up on lab results, medications, and care plans Administrative /EMR Duties:
+ Document patient interactions accurately in EMR (Athena preferred) + Process prescription refill requests per provider direction + Manage patient portal messages and communicate results + Support chart prep and maintain organized patient records + Maintain inventory and order clinical suppliesTeam & Workflow Support:
+ Collaborate with providers and fellow MAs to keep clinic flow efficient + Support both clinical and administrative workflows as needed + Follow clinic protocols, policies, and provider directionQualifications Required:
+ 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinic setting + Strong EMR experience (Athena, Epic, or similar) + Solid understanding of medical terminology (primary care/internal medicine) + Excellent communication and patient interaction skills + Strong organization, multitasking, and time management skillsPreferred:
+ Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, or similar) + CPR/BLS certification + Experience with geriatric or Medicare patient populations + Prior authorization Work Environment & Schedule +Schedule:
Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM (no weekends) + 40 hours/week (no overtime) + 4 days clinical + 1 administrative day (chart prep, results, portal work) + Small team: 4 providers (2 onsite daily) + MA team + onsite phlebotomist + Positive, team-oriented clinic culture with strong provider support Perks & Growth + Benefits available upon permanent hire (PTO, retirement match, etc.) + Career growth into Lead MA or office management + Team recognition, bonuses, and vendor-sponsored lunches Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Woodstock, GA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
