Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our cardiology healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced clinic environment, specifically within the dermatology and outpatient settings. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Duties Prepare charts for physician daily patient load. Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures in a dermatology clinic setting. Prepare patients for their appointments by taking medical histories, recording vital signs, and ensuring all necessary documentation is complete. Administer basic life support as needed and assist in emergency situations. Maintain accurate patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems, including coding for billing purposes. Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care instructions. Ensure the cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment. Collaborate with other healthcare staff to provide comprehensive care to patients. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred. Previous experience in a clinical cardiology setting is highly desirable, particularly inpatient or outpatient care. Knowledge of basic life support techniques and emergency medicine protocols. Familiarity with medical-surgical procedures and physiology knowledge is a plus. Proficiency in using electronic health record systems and understanding of medical coding practices. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and team members. Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and work efficiently under pressure.
