Responsibilities Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with intake procedures to ensure accurate medical records and smooth flow of appointments Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; document findings accurately in electronic health records (EHR) systems Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and assisting with positioning or specimen collection like phlebotomy when necessary Support clinical staff with procedures including medication administration, X-ray assistance, or basic wound care in accordance with protocols Manage medical documentation meticulously, including progress notes, ICD coding for diagnoses, and updating electronic health records (EHR/EMR) systems efficiently Assist with laboratory tasks such as specimen collection and handling; perform basic phlebotomy procedures with precision Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to infection control standards; support hospital or emergency medicine teams during inpatient or trauma center shifts when applicable Skills Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and ICD coding to accurately support diagnosis and treatment processes Proven experience in medical office management and administrative support within busy healthcare settings Hands-on experience with EMR/EHR systems for documentation, scheduling, and patient record management Competence in performing clinical procedures such as vital signs measurement, medication administration, X-ray assistance, and phlebotomy Familiarity with hospital medicine environments including inpatient units, trauma centers (Level I & II), PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), geriatrics, internal medicine, and emergency medicine settings Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and compassionately across diverse populations Basic life support (BLS) certification; additional certifications related to emergency medicine or trauma care are advantageous Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in fast-paced environments such as urgent care or hospital settings This role is an excellent fit for motivated individuals eager to make a difference in patient lives through compassionate care and technical expertise.
