In this vital role, you will manage front desk operations, coordinate appointments, handle patient inquiries, and support medical administrative functions with enthusiasm and professionalism. You will also have the opportunity to work one on one with our patients to update their medical history and to assist the physician. Your dedication will ensure a smooth patient experience while maintaining accurate medical records and facilitating seamless communication within the clinic. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to quality healthcare delivery in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive first impression. Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic health record (EHR), eClinicalworks. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance verification, and assist with billing processes including medical collection activities. Collect patient information accurately through intake procedures, update medical records, and review documentation for completeness and accuracy. Obtain medical records from outside sources. Seek authorization for medical imaging. Answer multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, directing calls appropriately and handling patient inquiries promptly. Manage medical records filing, data entry, and document review to ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality. Support medical office management tasks such as appointment reminders, patient check-in/out procedures, and coordinating with healthcare providers. Room patients and check vital signs and obtain a medical history, update current medications. Requirements Prefer experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment, preferably with clinic or dental clinic experience. Prefer experience with EMR systems such as Epic and eClinicalWorks. Familiarity with medical coding including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), ICD coding, and medical billing procedures. Excellent computer skills and health information management software. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and data security at all times. Ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently while demonstrating strong organizational skills. Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively. Exceptional communication skills combined with friendly phone etiquette and professional demeanor. Experience with insurance verification processes and familiarity with Medicare guidelines is a plus.
