We are seeking a detail-oriented and professional Medical Assistant/Administrative assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be flexible and able to alternate between roles depending on need to provide exceptional front desk support, clinical support, manage patient interactions, and ensure smooth clinic operations. This role requires strong administrative skills, familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, and a solid understanding of medical terminology and billing procedures. Clinic experience is highly valued to enhance patient service and communication. Duties Greet patients and visitors with professionalism, ensuring excellent customer service and phone etiquette Schedule appointments using EMR systems - Epic Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification processes accurately Collect payments and process medical billing using CPT coding, ICD-9, ICD-10, and Medicare guidelines Manage medical records, ensure proper documentation review, and maintain health information management standards Assist with intake procedures, including patient registration and data entry with accurate typing and 10-key skills. Fill in for clinical staff performing medical assiting duties, including taking health histories, rooming patients, assisting MD/PA's with injections, medical procedures, as directed. Handle phone systems efficiently, directing calls appropriately and managing appointment rescheduling or cancellations Support office management tasks such as filing, documentation review, and maintaining organized records Coordinate with clinical staff for care plans and documentation needs while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations Utilize office software like Microsoft Office to prepare reports or correspondence as needed Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems such as Epic Experience with insurance verification processes and Medicare guidelines Excellent customer service skills coupled with professional phone etiquette Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail Familiarity with medical terminology across various specialties Office management experience including clerical tasks such as filing, data entry, and document organization Competence in computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and health information management software This position offers an opportunity to be an integral part of a dedicated healthcare team committed to providing quality patient care through efficient administrative support.
