Job Description

Job description: Pathology Lab Assistant Idaho Gastroenterology Associates seeks a pathology lab assistant/technician to start immediately.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Filing of laboratorial records (physical and digital) including but not limited to consultations, requisition forms, specimen slides, etc. Inventory/stock lab supplies Data entry of patient clinical history to facilitate pathology diagnosis (i.e., accessioning) Ensure accurate specimen handling, identification, and labeling from accessioning to sign-out Gross (describe, measure, cut, ink etc.) tissue specimens for processing Preparing cases for send-out additional testing/consultations Slide and requisition filing Interacting with clinical staff to ensure excellent and timely pathology service Working in tandem with pathologists and histotechnologists to ensure efficient specimen workflow Perform other job-related duties as required or assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Ability to lift and carry boxes weighing up to 30 lbs. up and downstairs Proficient in the use of computers, including Microsoft Office and laboratory information systems Experience using EpicCare Link preferred Proficient in time management
Education:
Associate (Preferred) At least 60 semester hours, or equivalent, from an accredited institution that, at a minimum, include either 24 semester hours of medical laboratory technology courses; or 24 semester hours of science courses that include— 6 semester hours of chemistry, 6 semester hours of biology, and 12 semester hours of chemistry, biology, or medical laboratory technology in any combination OR a Lab Technician Associates Degree or similar degree
