A Medical Assistant assists physicians and other medical specialists with routine administrative or clinical tasks. Organizes patient records, schedules appointments, and prepares medical equipment. May specialize in administrative or clinical work, or specialize in a particular area of medicine, i.e. assisting in the office of an ophthalmologist (eye specialist). Works in medical offices.
MUST have a medical assistant diploma or 2 years of medical assistant experience or be a certified MA with 2 years of medical assistant experience, to qualify.

Monday•Friday from 8:00-5:00 PM No Weekends or Holidays As a Medical Assistant , you'll play a vital role on the care team•supporting providers, connecting with patients, and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day. As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will: Welcome patients and support their transition into care. Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and health screenings. Prepare patients for exams and assist providers during procedures. Administer medications and vaccines as directed. Perform lab-related tasks including specimen collection and point-of-care testing. Document care accurately in the electronic health record. Partner with physicians, nurses, and teammates to deliver high-quality, coordinated care.

Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of an accredited or approved program in Medical Assistant, or 2 years of verifiable full-time experience as a Medical Assistant within the last 5 years . Phlebotomy skills, preferred . Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently throughout the workday. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients, medical equipment, and supplies.
Must be able to:
push/pull with 30 lbs. of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs. with a second person present. Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and touch with ability to use fine hand manipulation skills for IV insertion and other procedures/functions. Maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines. Perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de-escalation, if needed. May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste as well as blood and body fluids and communicable disease. Therefore, protective clothing and equipment must be worn as necessary. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions. Physical Abilities Testing may be required.
