Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Assistant, where your expertise will directly impact patient care and clinic efficiency. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive support across outpatient and inpatient settings, including specialized areas such as dermatology, emergency medicine, and hospital medicine. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help ensure smooth clinic operations, accurate documentation, and exceptional patient service. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and verifying insurance information Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature with precision and professionalism Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring their comfort Support clinical procedures including medication administration, wound care, X-ray assistance, and basic life support when needed Document patient information accurately using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems while adhering to privacy regulations Conduct ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding for diagnoses and treatments to ensure proper billing and record keeping Support outpatient clinics by managing patient flow, scheduling appointments, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams Answer telephones, schedule appointments, fax items to miscellaneous locations all while remaining HIPPA compliant, check patients in, and collect copays and balances Qualifications Proven experience in medical assisting within dermatology, urgent care, hospital medicine or related outpatient/inpatient settings Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and emergency medicine protocols Experience with EHR systems for accurate documentation Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications such as X-ray or OR experience are a plus Familiarity with hospital experience including Level I or Level II trauma centers, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or Geriatrics is highly desirable Ability to perform clinical tasks such as medication administration, vital signs collection, specimen collection, and assisting with diagnostic procedures Excellent patient service skills with a compassionate approach to diverse populations across outpatient clinics or inpatient units Join us to make a meaningful difference in patient lives while advancing your career in a vibrant healthcare environment.
