Job Description

Carle Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support physicians and nurses in delivering high-quality, community-focused care. In this role, you will room patients, obtain vitals, document medical histories, and prepare exam areas. You will perform basic clinical procedures, administer injections, collect specimens, and assist with minor treatments under provider supervision. The CMA also manages scheduling, patient flow, and electronic health records to ensure accurate, timely documentation. Responsibilities Room patients and obtain vital signs and medical histories Prepare exam rooms and ensure a clean, safe clinical environment Assist providers with exams, minor procedures, and treatments Administer injections and medications as directed by providers Collect and process lab specimens and perform basic tests Document patient information accurately in the EHR system Coordinate scheduling and manage efficient patient flow Provide patient instructions, education, and follow-up support Maintain supplies, equipment, and inventory for clinical areas Follow infection control, safety, and quality-care protocols Required Skills Vital signs measurement Phlebotomy and specimen collection Administering injections and immunizations Electronic Health Records (EHR) documentation Medical terminology Patient scheduling and workflow coordination Infection control and safety protocols Basic diagnostic testing (e.g., EKG, point-of-care tests) Medication administration under supervision Patient education and communication
