Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified or Registered Dermatology Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide exceptional patient care within a fast-paced outpatient dermatology clinic, supporting physicians and ensuring a smooth patient experience. Your expertise will help facilitate accurate diagnoses, effective treatments, and compassionate service, all while maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your dermatology knowledge and medical assisting skills in a vibrant, patient-centered environment. Must be able to travel to all our IL locations, which include O'Fallon, Breese, Columbia, Highland, and Red Bud. Must be certified or registered. Duties Assist dermatologists with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments in both outpatient and clinic settings Conduct patient intake by gathering comprehensive medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately Prepare patients for procedures including skin biopsies, excisions, or cosmetic treatments while ensuring comfort and safety Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently to document clinical notes, test results, and treatment plans Support medical administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, verifying insurance information, and processing ICD (International Classification of Diseases) coding for billing purposes Assist with basic medication administration under physician supervision and handle specimen collection for laboratory testing Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards Work with payers and pharmacies to ensure patient medication approval. Skills Strong knowledge of dermatology practices, anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to skin conditions Experience working in hospital medicine, urgent care, or outpatient clinics with exposure to diverse patient populations including geriatrics and internal medicine cases Proficiency with EHR systems and familiarity with documentation and billing processes Excellent patient service skills with the ability to communicate clearly, empathetically, and professionally Knowledge of medication administration protocols within dermatology or related specialties such as medical-surgical or ICU environments Capable of multitasking effectively in fast-paced settings Join our team where your skills will make a meaningful difference! Pay:
$18.00 - $23.00 per hour
