Position Overview:
The Administrative Medical Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth patient flow and effective communication within our practice. This position is responsible for managing patient check-in and check-out processes, handling referrals, answering phones, and collecting copays. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, has excellent communication skills and enjoys talking to patients. Spanish speaking is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
Greet and check in patients upon arrival, ensuring all necessary information is accurately recorded. Manage patient check-out, scheduling follow-up appointments, and processing payments. Create and manage patient referrals to specialists and other healthcare providers. Answer incoming phone calls, direct calls to the appropriate staff, and provide information as needed. Collect copays and provide patients with accurate billing information. Maintain patient records and ensure all documentation is up to date and accurate. Assist with general administrative tasks as needed to support the smooth operation of the practice. In some instances, vital and room patients Phlebotomy experience is a plus
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; additional medical administrative training is a plus. Previous experience in a medical office or similar environment preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems and basic office software. Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a busy office setting. Professional demeanor and a commitment to patient confidentiality.
