Job Description

Job Overview We are a busy and growing Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine practice seeking a reliable, motivated Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate is organized, patient-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment. In addition, we are seeking a candidate that can float between our clinics, Des Plaines and Rolling Meadows. Duties Assist with patient intake procedures, including collecting medical histories and documenting chief complaints Rooming patients, obtaining vital signs, and documenting medical history Assisting providers with office visits Performing nebulizer treatments, 6 minute walks, spirometry test, etc.. (training provided if needed) Administering injections as ordered Supporting sleep study coordination and DME processes (CPAP/BiPAP a plus) Handling prior authorizations, referrals, and patient phone calls Schedule appointments Updating EMR and maintaining accurate patient records Handle patient check in and check out during clinic, which includes confirming demographic information, providing orders to complete at outpatient facilities and scheduling their follow up appointments Provide excellent patient service by addressing questions and ensuring comfort throughout visits Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas in compliance with safety standards Requirements Certified or experienced Medical Assistant Pulmonary or sleep medicine experience preferred but not required Knowledge of medical terminology and medications Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environment Strong communication skills with patients, providers, and team Basic life support (BLS) certification required or obtainable upon hire Strong multitasking skills

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
