The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in clinical procedures, patient care, and medical administrative support, with experience across various medical specialties including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and outpatient clinics. This role offers an opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care in a dynamic healthcare environment. The Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for providing comprehensive support to physicians and patients, ensuring smooth clinic operations and fostering a welcoming atmosphere for all patients. Duties Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including collecting medical histories and documenting symptoms accurately. Measure vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates to support diagnosis and treatment plans. Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort throughout their visit. Perform clinical tasks such as administering medications, drawing blood, and assisting with minor procedures in outpatient or inpatient settings. Operate and maintain Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems to document patient information securely and efficiently. Support physicians with diagnostic procedures including X-ray imaging and basic physiology assessments. Manage medical supplies inventory, ensure proper sterilization protocols, and assist in maintaining a safe clinical environment. Provide exceptional patient service by addressing questions, coordinating appointments, and facilitating communication between patients and healthcare providers. Assist with ICD coding for billing purposes while adhering to compliance standards in various medical specialties such as geriatrics, internal medicine, emergency medicine, PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), and Level I/II trauma centers. Experience Proven experience as a Medical Assistant within outpatient clinics or hospital settings is required. Prior exposure to dermatology, urgent care, emergency medicine, or hospital medicine is highly desirable. Familiarity with EHR systems, medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and physiology is essential. Experience supporting inpatient units such as Geriatrics wards or PICU enhances suitability for this role. Knowledge of medication administration protocols and basic life support (BLS) certification is necessary. Previous involvement in Level I or Level II trauma center environments provides valuable insight into high-pressure clinical situations. Demonstrated ability to perform X-ray procedures or assist in surgical settings like the OR is advantageous. Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities efficiently in fast-paced outpatient or inpatient environments.
