Job Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate, organized, dependable and proactive Medical Assistant to join our team at a thriving Medical Spa and Weight Loss Clinic. The ideal candidate will assist with both medical and cosmetic procedures, patient care, and administrative duties in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. This role requires a balance of clinical skills, customer service, and attention to detail to provide the best possible experience for our patients.Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Support:
Assist the physician, nurse practitioners, or other healthcare providers during medical procedures such as injections (Botox, dermal fillers), laser treatments, body contouring, and other cosmetic services. Prepare patients for treatment by taking vitals, medical history, and ensuring the clinic room is properly set up and sterile. Administer treatments and procedures as directed by licensed medical professionals. Perform and assist with minor clinical procedures, such as blood draws, B12 injections, and other treatments related to weight loss and aesthetic services. Monitor patient progress during treatments and record relevant observations in the patient's medical record. Prepare and maintain medical instruments, equipment, and supplies.Weight Loss and Wellness Support:
Assist patients in their weight loss journey by explaining diet plans, medications, and wellness programs under the guidance of healthcare providers. Provide education and motivation to patients on lifestyle changes, weight loss methods, and maintaining a healthy routine. Track patient progress, document weight measurements, and monitor adherence to weight loss programs.Administrative Duties:
Greet and check-in patients upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming environment and handling patient concerns or questions. Schedule patient appointments, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up reminders. Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including medical history, treatment plans, and progress reports. Handle insurance verifications and billing inquiries, assisting with patient financial concerns when necessary. Manage office inventory, ordering supplies and ensuring equipment is in good working order.Customer Service:
Provide exceptional customer service and communication, addressing patient concerns and ensuring a positive, comfortable experience throughout their visit. Assist with client retention by providing follow-up calls and check-ins after treatments to ensure satisfaction.Compliance and Safety:
Ensure that all treatments and procedures are performed in compliance with medical regulations and standards of care. Maintain a clean, sterile, and organized environment to ensure patient safety. Adhere to all privacy and confidentiality policies, including HIPAA regulations.Qualifications:
Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred. Previous experience in a medical spa, weight loss clinic, or healthcare setting highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, basic anatomy, and various aesthetic and weight loss treatments. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on providing excellent patient care. Ability to multitask, manage time effectively, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Basic knowledge of office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, EHR systems). Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand, sit, and move around the clinic for extended periods of time. Ability to lift or move light equipment as needed.Working Hours:
