ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Under direct orders given by the MD or APRN, supervises self-administered client medication, depending on the specific clinical program's protocols.

Assists with direct patient care procedures and related tasks. Provides personal care, as needed (e. g., personal hygiene, toileting, laundry, meal preparation, safe eating techniques) as directed.

Provides frequent rounding on clients and address/report client needs to LPN/RN as appropriate.

Obtains vital signs, height, and weight for clients on the inpatient unit as directed by the LPN/RN.

Performs UDS/HCG testing adhering to CLIA standards.

Maintains accurate inventory of medicines and medical supplies.

Authorizes drug refills as ordered by the medical provider and telephones/faxes prescriptions to the pharmacy.

Schedules outside medical appointments for clients as ordered by the medical provider.

Obtains necessary medical information as requested by the medical provider.

Maintains current and accurate documentation.

Transports clients to clinics and hospitals within walking distance of facility as needed.

Administers First Aid and CPR, as needed. The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job. EDUCATION

High School or GED

Desired:

Certified Medical Assistant

Preferred:

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or

SRNA EXPERIENCE

Preferred one year of experience in a medical setting, preferably in behavioral health.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Position has no unusual physical demands.

Frequent exposure to threat of bodily harm from clients/patients.

Normal work tasks may involve a high level of frequent and ongoing exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissue. Within the bounds of their respective job descriptions, all staff are expected to exercise principle-centered leadership, focused on customer service responsiveness, with a continuous quality improvement orientation. Additionally, all staff are expected to develop a working knowledge of and follow all policies and procedures related to safety management and other Joint Commission standards.
