Medical Assistant Location:
Lafayette We are a growing, patient-focused medical practice in the Lafayette area, seeking a reliable, professional Medical Assistant to join our clinical team. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to delivering consistent, high-quality patient care. This role supports providers across primary care, urgent care, occupational medicine, and medically guided wellness services. The right candidate understands that efficiency, discretion, and patient experience all matter. Position Summary The Medical Assistant will support providers with direct patient care, clinical documentation, in-office procedures, and day-to-day clinic flow. This position requires professionalism, clinical competence, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and compliance. Core Responsibilities Room patients and document vitals, history updates, and chief complaints Assist providers during examinations and in-office procedures Perform phlebotomy and process specimens appropriately Administer injections under provider direction Prepare and clean exam rooms between patients Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation Support occupational medicine services, including employer-related exams and documentation Ensure charts are properly routed and handled according to clinic protocol Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards Manage patient communication in a professional and structured manner Assist with inventory management and clinical supply organization Required Qualifications Current Medical Assistant certification required Phlebotomy experience required Experience administering injections Strong EMR proficiency Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in a medical office setting. Experience will be verified. Working knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA regulations Reliable transportation and consistent attendance Must be able to pass a hands-on clinical assessment prior to employment Preferred Experience Primary care or urgent care experience Occupational medicine or DOT exam exposure Experience with medically guided weight loss or hormone therapy services Ability to manage high patient volume while maintaining accuracy Professional Expectations Punctual and prepared prior to clinic opening Maintains structured workflow and keeps clinical areas organized Demonstrates maturity, accountability, and initiative Communicates clearly with providers and staff Protects patient privacy at all times Accepts coaching and is committed to continuous improvement Work Environment Fast-paced clinic Team-based setting Performance-driven culture focused on patient outcomes and efficiency
Pay:
$12.50 - $16.50 per hour
Education:
High school or equivalent (Preferred)
