Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant position provides support in the facilitation of patient care in the clinical setting. We are looking for an experienced Medical Assistant to join our team!
Duties/Responsibilities:
Greet patients in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner while ensuring a positive patient experience and efficient patient flow throughout the clinic. Obtain, document, and maintain accurate patient information, including physical data, medical histories, patient interactions, physician orders, treatment progress, test results, and other required medical documentation within the electronic medical record. Prepare, review, and maintain patient charts, records, imaging studies, test results, surgical packets, and other supporting documentation to ensure all necessary information is available prior to appointments and procedures. Assist physicians and providers during examinations, treatments, procedures, and clinic sessions, including processing provider orders and coordinating patient care with the healthcare team to ensure continuity of care and address patient concerns. Schedule followup appointments, coordinate referrals, communicate with patients and healthcare providers, and verify completion of ordered testing when necessary. Manage daily clinic operations by rooming patients, coordinating patient flow, overseeing assigned support staff, and preparing examination and procedure rooms with appropriate supplies and equipment. Review, prepare, and distribute clinic schedules and operational documents; assist with nextday clinic planning, scheduling adjustments, and overall clinic readiness. Monitor and process incoming faxes, scanned documents, patient records, and chart notes in a timely manner. Adhere to all OSHA, HIPAA, and organizational policies and procedures. Travel between clinic locations as assigned to support operational and patient care needs. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction. Professional, dependable, and maintains positive attitude in fastpaced environment. Selfdirected and goaloriented. Organized and able to multitask to facilitate efficient workflow. Knowledgeable of medical terminology and general medical practice operations. Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality. Basic office skills such as typing and operating phones.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED required. Medical Assistant certification preferred. 2+ years of experience working as an MA in a clinical setting. Experience with computerized medical office work.
Physical Requirements:
Standing, walking, sitting/bending.
