Job Description
Job Summary Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Medical Receptionist, where you will be the friendly face and efficient coordinator at the front desk of a busy OBGYN practice. Your energetic approach and exceptional organizational skills will ensure smooth patient flow, accurate record-keeping, and seamless communication between patients and healthcare providers. This vital role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality patient care while honing your administrative expertise in a fast-paced environment. Duties Greet patients warmly, verify insurance information, and assist with appointment scheduling using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) software, training for which will be provided on the job Manage multi-line phone systems with professionalism, providing clear and courteous communication to address patient inquiries, appointment requests, and follow-up needs. Verify insurance coverage, perform insurance eligibility checks, and handle insurance verification processes for Medicare, Medicaid, and other plans. Collect payments, and post payments to patient records Maintain meticulous medical records by filing documents electronically or physically, reviewing documentation for completeness, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations for patient privacy and health information management. Assist with intake procedures including patient registration, updating medical histories, and explaining clinic policies to foster a welcoming environment. Support clinic operations by managing appointment schedules, coordinating care plans with healthcare providers, and reviewing documentation for accuracy. Experience Previous experience working in a medical or dental office setting is highly preferred; familiarity with clinic workflows enhances efficiency. Prior experience using EMR systems is a plus Computer skills - being able to manage multiple windows, emails & documents Exceptional customer service skills and phone etiquette. Ability to handle phone calls, transfer calls and follow up with patients via phone as needed.
