Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care in various medical settings, including medical-surgical, internal medicine, emergency medicine, and urgent care. This position requires a proactive individual who is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, particularly within a Level I Trauma Center or Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU). Responsibilities Assist healthcare professionals with patient examinations and procedures. Prepare and maintain examination rooms, ensuring they are clean and well-stocked. Record patient histories and vital signs accurately. Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians. Perform basic laboratory tests and assist with diagnostic imaging. Manage patient scheduling, including follow-up appointments and referrals. Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) and ensure compliance with privacy regulations. Provide education to patients regarding treatment plans and health maintenance. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care. Skills Proficient understanding of medical-surgical practices and protocols. Experience in internal medicine and emergency medicine settings is highly desirable. Familiarity with the operations of a Level I Trauma Center or PICU is a plus. Knowledge of outpatient procedures in urgent care environments. Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently within a clinical setting. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare team members. Ability to work collaboratively within various systems to enhance patient care outcomes.
