We are professional and agile. Medical Assistant Primary Care Practice | Full-Time or Part-Time We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our primary care team. The primary responsibility of this position is to provide high-quality clinical support to our providers and excellent care to our patients. As part of our team-based approach, the Medical Assistant will also receive cross-training in basic front desk responsibilities . This training is intended to allow the Medical Assistant to assist with front desk coverage during staff shortages, emergencies, or other times when additional support is needed. The ideal candidate is a team player who is comfortable working in a fast-paced primary care environment and understands the importance of professionalism, patient safety, communication, and attention to detail. Primary Responsibilities — Medical Assistant Complete refrigerator and freezer temperature checks every morning and evening. Verify that the medical scale is properly zeroed each morning. Ensure examination rooms are appropriately stocked and prepared for patient care. Prepare for and participate in the daily team huddle by 8:45 AM . Greet patients by name in the waiting room and over the phone. Provide professional, compassionate patient care while following established standards of care. Work collaboratively and congenially with providers and other members of the healthcare team. Obtain and accurately document patient medical histories . Complete laboratory work, urine testing, EKGs, PFTs, and other testing identified during the daily huddle before the provider sees the patient. Prepare examination rooms according to provider preferences. Assist providers with examinations and procedures and ensure appropriate equipment is available. Administer immunizations and medications as directed by the provider and document appropriately in Epic EMR . Accurately document and relay patient information. Review and reconcile laboratory results and ensure results are available for provider review. Maintain clean, organized, and properly stocked examination rooms. Monitor clinical supplies and maintain necessary equipment, including nebulizers. Complete weekly room stocking and inventory checks. Clean and sterilize equipment used during the day according to practice protocols. Keep sinks, countertops, centrifuges, racks, and other clinical areas clean and organized. Properly dispose of biohazardous materials and monitor sharps containers to ensure they do not become overfilled. Follow all HIPAA, infection control, safety, and patient privacy requirements . Cross-Training — Front Desk Coverage Although this is primarily a Medical Assistant position , the employee will be trained on essential front desk responsibilities to provide coverage when needed.

Greeting and checking in patients. Verifying and updating demographic and insurance information. Checking insurance cards and required patient forms.
