Medical Assistant

Administrative Duties Answering telephones Greeting patients Updating and filing patient medical records Scheduling appointments Arranging for hospital admissions and laboratory services Handling patients and external facilities correspondence Using computer applications

Clinical Duties Might Include:

Taking medical histories Explaining treatment procedures to patients Preparing patients for examination Assisting the physician during exams Performing basic diagnostics tests Instructing patients about medication and special diets Transmitting prescription refills as directed Administering vaccination The responsibilities of this job include, but are not limited to, the following: Triaging patients, including obtaining vital signs, updating medications, and completing pt information. Answering calls. Obtaining Authorization from 3rd party payer; Assisting physicians with various patient treatment and care; Restocking treatment area; Notifying physician when the patient is ready for exam; Maintaining cleanliness in the treatment & work areas; Registering & checking out the patients; Calling patients. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Following guidelines as deemed necessary ; Completing other daily assigned tasks. The candidate must be dependable with excellent work ethic. Must be able to perform multi-tasking and work with other staffs as a team member.
