Rare Opportunity Detroit Biologics is a new physician-owned sports medicine and orthobiologics practice specializing in non-surgical orthopedic care, regenerative medicine, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and Class IV laser therapy. Led by fellowship-trained sports medicine physician Dr. Melanie Worley, our mission is to help patients return to the activities they love through evidence-informed, personalized care. This is a unique opportunity to join a practice from the very beginning and play an integral role in building one of Michigan's premier non-surgical orthopedic and regenerative medicine practices. Rather than joining a large healthcare system, you'll work directly alongside the physician in a collaborative, patient-centered environment where your contributions will have a meaningful impact on both the practice and our patients. No prior regenerative medicine experience is required—we are looking for someone who is dependable, compassionate, organized, eager to learn, and excited to grow with the practice. Responsibilities Welcome patients and provide an exceptional concierge-level experience Room patients and obtain medical histories and vital signs Prepare patients for examinations and procedures Prepare and assist with ultrasound-guided orthopedic procedures Perform venipuncture for platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and other orthobiologic procedures Prepare and process PRP (training provided) Assist with Class IV laser therapy treatments Clean, sterilize, and organize procedure rooms and equipment Maintain clinical inventory and order medical supplies Schedule appointments and coordinate follow-up care Navigate the electronic medical record (EMR), including documenting telephone encounters, patient messages, and administrative notes (no physician visit note documentation required) Coordinate outside imaging and medical records Answer patient phone calls and assist with patient communication Help establish efficient office workflows as the practice grows Maintain the highest standards of professionalism, organization, and patient care QualificationsRequired Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent experience) Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and multitasking abilities Comfortable navigating electronic medical records Reliable, self-motivated, and detail-oriented Passion for delivering outstanding patient care Preferred Orthopedic or sports medicine experience Prior experience performing venipuncture/blood draws independently is strongly preferred Experience assisting with in-office procedures Familiarity with musculoskeletal ultrasound Interest in regenerative medicine and sports medicine Experience working in a concierge or specialty medical practice is a plus The Ideal Candidate We're looking for someone who: Wants to help build an innovative physician-led practice from the ground up Takes initiative and enjoys working independently Is dependable, organized, and adaptable Enjoys working with active individuals and helping patients return to the activities they love Is comfortable taking ownership of clinical workflows while providing exceptional patient care Is excited to learn advanced regenerative medicine procedures and grow alongside the practice Benefits Competitive hourly pay ($22-28/hour based on experience) Flexible part-time schedule with anticipated transition to full-time and benefits Continuing education and professional development opportunities Opportunity to learn advanced musculoskeletal ultrasound, regenerative medicine, and Class IV laser therapy Performance-based raises and bonus opportunities as the practice grows Long-term opportunity to become a key member of a growing specialty practice If you're looking for more than just another medical assistant position and want to help build something meaningful while working alongside a physician passionate about innovation and exceptional patient care, we'd love to hear from you.
