Full Job Description Job Summary:
We are seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our hand surgery practice. This role involves both clinical and administrative responsibilities to support providers and ensure efficient patient care. The ideal candidate is organized, compassionate, and able to thrive in a fast-paced specialty environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints Assist providers during patient examinations and in-office procedures Perform and assist with X-rays as needed Provide wound care, including dressing changes and basic treatment Apply and remove splints, braces, and other orthopedic supports Remove sutures and staples per provider direction Prepare and maintain sterile instruments; sanitize tools and equipment Clean and restock exam rooms and clinical areas Answer phone calls, schedule appointments, and respond to patient inquiries Coordinate and send referrals to specialists or for additional services Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) Follow all safety, infection control, and HIPAA guidelines
Qualifications:
Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA/RMA) preferred (or relevant experience) Previous experience in orthopedic, surgical, or specialty practice is a plus X-ray certification or willingness to obtain (if required by state) Strong clinical and multitasking skills Excellent communication and patient care abilities Knowledge of medical terminology and EMR systems
Work Environment:

Schedule:
Full-time / Part-time (specify as needed) Monday-Friday, daytime hours
Pay:
$15.00 - $18.00 per hour
