• Trinity Health IHA Medical Group is seeking a compassionate and motivated
• Medical Assistant
• to support our providers in delivering exceptional patient care. In this role, you'll work directly with patients, assist with clinical procedures, support care coordination, and help create a positive healthcare experience every day.

• What You'll Do:

• + Welcome and prepare patients for appointments.

+ Collect and document patient histories, vital signs, and health information. + Assist providers with exams, procedures, testing, and specimen collection. + Administer medications and perform diagnostic testing as directed. + Communicate test results and provider instructions to patients. + Provide patient and family education to support better health outcomes. + Coordinate care and serve as a liaison between patients and providers. + Support quality improvement initiatives and disease management programs.

EDUCATION

High School Diploma or GED.

Successful completion of accredited/approved:

+ MA program and MA Externship; + MA Internship; + Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program; + Paramedic program; or + Certified Athletic Trainer. If credentialed, maintains current MA Re-Certification CEUs.

CREDENTIALS/LICENSURE

MA-Non-Credentialed I:

MA eligible to attain Medical Assistant Certification is desired, or EMT with current/active license in the State of Michigan, or Paramedic following successful completion of the National Registry Paramedic Exam and/or holds a current/active license in the State of Michigan. Valid CPR certification.

MA-Credentialed I:

Certification as a Medical Assistant through one of the following certifying agencies: + American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA) + American Medical Technologists (RMA) + National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA) + National Healthcareer Association (CCMA) + National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA) + American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE

0-1 year previous clinical experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred. In absence of completed MA Program/Externship/Internship, must have 2+ years' clinical experience providing clinical support in community-based clinic and be subject to standardized testing and evaluation of clinical skills.
