We are seeking a Medical Assistant responsible for direct service to clients in one of our Psychiatric Services Clinics. Network180's Willow Clinic is medication management clinic that serves both adults and children with mental illness and substance use disorder needs. This position is 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. There are no weekends, on call, or holiday requirements for this position. This assignment is in person at 790 Fuller Ave NE Grand Rapids, Michigan 49503.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent. Completion of a Medical Assistant certificate program from an accredited Medical Assistant program. At least one year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting; or successful completion of MA externship with Network180. Current CPR certification or obtain within six (6) months of hire; BLS certification required within one (1) year of hire. Education or training in the basics of medical terminology. Computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, database management and e-mail. Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and skills and capabilities of bridging language/cultural barriers to Network180 services within diverse communities.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
CMA certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants or RMA certification through American Medical Technologists. Strong understanding of services for psychiatric and substance disordered consumers, and a strong recovery philosophy. Experience working with an Electronic Health Record. Lived experiences with mental illness/developmental disabilities/substance use disorders valued. Job interviews are being conducted in person or via the internet.
