The Medical Assistant (MA) plays a vital role in delivering exceptional patient care and supporting the daily operations of our practice. This position is responsible for assisting providers with patient intake, obtaining vital signs, maintaining accurate electronic medical records, and ensuring a positive patient experience. The MA may also assist with phone triage, administrative tasks, and collaboration with clinical and front-office staff. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare patients for office visits by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and medication information. Perform clinical laboratory duties, including urinalysis (UA), administering IM/SQ injections, and properly processing laboratory specimens. Prepare patient charts and obtain medical records prior to scheduled appointments. Triage patient phone calls and ensure timely follow-up and resolution. Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all HIPAA regulations. Obtain prior authorizations for medications and scheduled procedures. Assist with front desk and clerical responsibilities as needed. Maintain clean, organized, and fully stocked exam rooms and laboratory areas. Support physicians, nurse practitioners, and team members in providing high-quality patient care. Qualifications Education & Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical Assistant Certificate or degree required. Knowledge of medical terminology required. Previous clinical experience preferred. Experience with EPIC electronic medical records preferred. Skills & Abilities Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Professional, courteous, and compassionate demeanor. Exceptional patient service and telephone etiquette. Ability to communicate effectively with patients, providers, and staff. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Basic computer proficiency required. Reliable, punctual, and dependable. Language Requirements Fluent in English. Certifications, Licenses & Transportation Medical Assistant Certificate required. Valid Michigan driver's license required. Reliable transportation and valid automobile insurance required.
