Job Description

Entech Medical Staffing is looking to add a Medical Assistant to a Family Practice located in the Shelby Township/Macomb area. Seeking someone who is professional, friendly and compassionate that mostly will be responsible for clinical back office duties along with some administrative as needed. If you are someone who likes to help people, this might be the position for you!
Job Duties:
Welcome and room patients and obtain vital signs, height, weight, pulse, medical history and chief complaint. Administer injections/vaccines, EKGs, PFTs, Urinalysis, A1C, Glucose levels, Step tests, Flu shots, physicals, drug screens, pregnancy testing, wound care, hearing and vision, specimen collection, etc. Document confidential patient information into the EMR system. (Athena is preferred) Take messages off prescription line and answer questions when patients call in. Keep examination rooms stocked properly with medical supplies and sanitized before and after each patient exam. Must be a team player and get along with patients, parents, staff, physicians, etc.

Approximately 3 month assignment, always potential for extension based on performance and need.
Qualifications:
  • HS Diploma or gen. equiv.
  • Medical Assistant Diploma/Certificate and/or transcripts, unless Certified or Registered.
  • Min. 2-5 years of previous medical assistant experience
  • Proficient with EMR systems and Athena is a plus
  • Must have excellent attendance and punctuality
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
