Competitive hourly rate based on experience Position Summary We are seeking a dependable, patient-focused Medical Assistant / Front Desk Coordinator to join our growing urgent care and medical weight-loss practice. This dual-role position requires a candidate who is comfortable providing both clinical and administrative support in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will have experience with patient intake, front desk operations, phlebotomy, injections, and diagnostic imaging (X-ray). This individual must be willing to travel between clinic locations as needed and provide exceptional customer service to every patient. ResponsibilitiesClinical Duties Prepare patients for examination and treatment. Obtain and document vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints. Perform venipuncture and collect laboratory specimens. Administer injections and immunizations under provider direction. Perform in-house testing and assist with laboratory procedures. Take and process diagnostic X-rays in accordance with clinic protocols and applicable regulations. Assist providers with examinations and minor procedures. Clean, stock, and maintain examination rooms and clinical equipment. Ensure compliance with infection control and safety standards. Front Desk Duties Greet and check in patients in a professional and friendly manner. Verify insurance eligibility and collect copays, deductibles, and outstanding balances. Schedule appointments and manage patient flow. Answer and direct incoming phone calls. Process patient registration forms and maintain accurate demographic information. Scan, upload, and manage medical records within the EMR system. Assist patients with questions regarding services, billing, and follow-up care. Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations. General Responsibilities Support urgent care and medical weight-loss operations. Assist with inventory management and supply ordering. Communicate effectively with providers, patients, and staff. Travel to assigned clinic locations based on staffing needs. Maintain a professional appearance and positive attitude. Perform additional duties as assigned to support clinic operations. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical Assistant certification preferred (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent). Current BLS/CPR certification preferred. Minimum 1 year of experience in an urgent care, primary care, emergency medicine, or similar healthcare setting preferred. Experience performing venipuncture and administering injections required. Experience operating digital X-ray equipment required. Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures. Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems. Required Skills Strong phlebotomy and injection administration skills. Ability to perform and document X-rays accurately and safely. Excellent customer service and patient communication abilities. Strong organizational and multitasking skills. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with computers, scheduling systems, and EMR software. Attention to detail and accuracy. Requirements Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between clinic locations. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends. Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds as needed. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Preferred Qualifications Experience in urgent care settings. Experience with medical weight-loss programs. X-ray certification or limited radiography certification (as required by state regulations). Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
