ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
MEDICAL
ASSISTANT
Help patients by providing information, services, and assistance Verify patients for examination by interviewing patient, recording medical history, and confirming purpose of visit Prepare patient for the health care visit by directing and/or accompanying them to the examining room Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests, taking blood pressure, weight, temperature, and reporting patient history summary Processing of instruments - Autoclave and testing - Dart + A-test Assist patient with dressing and getting into wheelchair for discharge Maintenance in computer of inventory Manage and maintain all material management to ensure proper stock
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
FLUOROSCOPY Operation of C-Arm Fluoroscopy X-Ray Oversee supplies needed for Fluoroscopy and sterilization Upkeep and maintenance of clean and dirty rooms, C-Arm and Monitor Positions patient and selects appropriate options to demonstrate cross sectional anatomy of interest based on accepted X-Ray/Fluoroscopy principles and the referring physician's request Assists in maintaining Fluoroscopic image database for reference (i.e. assure all fields are entered in a systematic way on the C-Arm) Knowledge of principles of radiation safety Performs clerical responsibilities associated with acquisition, processing and archiving of patient records. (Bring up prior images for physician viewing, load MRI discs, save images in Life Image, etc.) Fluoroscopic (C-Arm) times that are during down time, assist in ancillary staff duties which may include rooming patients, prepping operating room between procedures/surgeries, assist circulating nurse, and other duties delegated. General patient care
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Elimination of trash and removal of non-hazardous waste (i.e. moving large equipment, assisting doctors with positioning of heavy patients, mopping, IV outdates, instruments, flush autoclave) Very thorough and methodical attention to work Prepare the operating room for procedures/surgeries Identifies and corrects problems and situations as appropriate with all critical occurrences reported to the next level of authority Answer telephone with professional mannerism Check in new inventory Restock new inventory in supply room, pre-op (including pre-op bathroom), operating room and locker room
