Job Description

Job Overview Greater Meridian Health Clinic, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and skilled Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a comprehensive understanding of clinical procedures, patient care, and medical administrative support within diverse medical settings. As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient services, supporting physicians, and ensuring the smooth operation of outpatient and inpatient clinics. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to patient health outcomes in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments across various specialties including internal medicine, and emergency medicine. Take and record vital signs accurately, including blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature. Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining medical histories and performing initial assessments. Support with clinical tasks such as medication administration. Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems efficiently to document patient information and treatment plans. Provide exceptional patient service by addressing inquiries, explaining procedures, and ensuring comfort throughout visits. Requirements Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is mandatory. Prior experience in outpatient clinics or hospital settings is highly preferred; experience in hospital medicine or emergency departments is advantageous. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and pharmacology relevant to inpatient and outpatient care. Proficiency with EHR systems and familiarity with ICD coding standards for accurate documentation. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required; additional certifications such as X-ray or medication administration training are a plus. Experience working within Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers is desirable; familiarity with PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), Geriatrics, or Medical-Surgical units is beneficial. Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in fast-paced environments such as urgent care or clinic settings. Excellent communication skills to foster positive patient interactions and collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
