Job Description

Vein Institute of South Mississippi is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Clinical and Procedure Assistant to join our specialized team. In this vital role, you will provide direct support to our providers in both clinical and procedural settings, helping deliver exceptional patient care for vein disease and related vascular conditions. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced medical environment and maintains the highest standards of patient safety and sterility. Key Responsibilities Assist providers during clinical evaluations, consultations, and outpatient procedures. Prepare examination and procedure rooms, including setting up sterile fields and ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are ready. Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique protocols before, during, and after procedures. Provide patient support, including preparation, education, and post-procedure care instructions. Document patient information, procedure details, and clinical notes accurately in the electronic medical record. Perform basic clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing patients, and assisting with ultrasound-guided procedures as directed. Travel between our Hattiesburg and Meridian locations as needed to support clinic operations. Help maintain inventory of medical supplies and ensure proper sterilization and storage of instruments. Uphold patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA and clinic safety policies. Qualifications and Requirements Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or procedural assisting role (medical assistant, surgical tech, or similar preferred). Demonstrated experience and proficiency with sterile technique is required . Current BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire). Strong knowledge of medical terminology, infection control practices, and patient safety standards. Excellent interpersonal skills with a compassionate, patient-first approach. Ability to travel between Hattiesburg and Meridian locations (reliable transportation required). High school diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) is a plus. Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 25 lbs, and work in a clinical environment. What We Offer Competitive compensation based on experience.
