Job Description

Under clinical supervision, assists in the delivery of patient care and treatment according to policies and procedures and Logan Health (LH) MAU/UAP (Unlicensed Assistive Personnel) scope of practice. Provides administrative support and works collaboratively with Physicians, Advanced Practice Clinicians, RNs, LPNs and other department staff to meet the physical, psychosocial, education and spiritual needs of the patient and family. Kalispell, MT Schedule:
Full-time, 4 | 10 hour Shift At Logan Health Urology, we provide specialized, patient-focused care for individuals experiencing urologic conditions and concerns. Our team is committed to delivering compassionate, high-quality care in a collaborative and professional clinical environment that supports both patients and staff. We are seeking a Registered or Certified Medical Assistant to join our urology clinic team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced specialty practice, works well alongside physicians and advanced practice clinicians, and is committed to delivering exceptional patient care. Key Responsibilities Prepare exam rooms, equipment, and supplies based on patient and procedural needs. Receive and prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures according to clinic protocols. Obtain and accurately document patient histories, vital signs, and clinical information in the electronic medical record. Collect laboratory specimens and assist with diagnostic testing, treatments, procedures, and surgeries as needed. Assist physicians and advanced practice clinicians with minor procedures and physical examinations. Clean and disinfect equipment in accordance with clinic and infection prevention policies. Support scheduling, registration, co-pay collection, referrals, and prior authorizations as assigned. Triage incoming phone calls and patient portal messages to ensure appropriate follow-up by providers or nursing staff. Attend required meetings and participate in committees and departmental initiatives as requested. With approved training and validated competencies, may perform scribe duties including accurate transcription, proofreading, and documentation support within the electronic medical record. Maintain regular and consistent attendance and complete all onboarding education and competency requirements prior to performing patient care tasks. Required Qualifications Post high school education or vocational training in healthcare preferred; equivalent combinations of education and clinical experience may be considered. Graduate of a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited medical assisting program within eighteen (18) months of hire. RQI Provider (BLS) certification required within seven (7) days of hire/transfer or prior to independent patient care, whichever occurs first. Must complete Logan Health medication administration training, as applicable. Strong understanding of HIPAA and patient confidentiality requirements. Ability to employ critical thinking skills, adapt to changing workloads, prioritize tasks effectively, and seek assistance appropriately. Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative healthcare team. Ability to maintain professionalism, integrity, empathy, and kindness while interacting with patients, families, providers, and staff. Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn additional software systems as needed. Preferred Qualifications Medical office experience and medical terminology training preferred. Working knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, laboratory values, and medical equipment. Familiarity with infection control practices, aseptic technique, patient rights, regulatory standards, and common safety precautions. Experience working in a specialty clinic setting preferred. Scope of Practice All Logan Health Medical Assistants/UAPs must practice within the Logan Health-defined MA/UAP Scope of Practice and may not perform duties outside of validated competencies. Schedule:
Logan Health operates 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Schedules are set to accommodate the requirements of the position and the needs of the organization and may be adjusted as needed.
