Medical Assistant II, Certified UNC Medical Center is hiring a Medical Assistant II, Certified for the Gastroenterology Clinic at Eastowne and the Endocrinology Clinic at Eastowne in Chapel Hill, NC.
Salary Range:
$18.84 - $26.77 per hour (Hiring Range)
Incentive:
Eligible for $7,500 commitment incentive
Schedule:
Monday-Friday, day shift, no holidays or weekends.

Faculty members are widely recognized for their expertise, clinical skills, and dedication to patients. UNC gastroenterologists have written many of the national guidelines for diagnosing and treating digestive and liver diseases. Each year we staff more than 25,000 clinic visits and perform more than 20,000 GI endoscopic procedures. We strive to deliver high quality, personalized, and compassionate care to each person we treat. Endocrinology UNC Hospitals Outpatient Center at Eastowne is a specialty clinic for the evaluation and treatment of conditions related to hormone-producing glands. We provide care for patients with a wide range of endocrine conditions, including diabetes, thyroid disease, osteoporosis, parathyroid disease, adrenal disorders, pituitary disorders, and tumors or cancers of the endocrine glands. We also provide gender-affirming hormone therapy for transgender and non-binary adults.

Desired Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; CMA/RMA required Experience in cardiology or specialty outpatient care preferred Skills in vital signs, EKGs, phlebotomy, and assisting with cardiac procedures Proficient with EHR documentation, scheduling, and patient check-in/out Strong communication, teamwork, and patient-centered care skills Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinic
Education Requirements:
• None required as long as other position qualifications are met. • Completion of a Medical Assisting program accredited by either the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accreditation Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES) is strongly preferred but not required.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
• Requires Medical Assistant certification by either the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), American Medical Technologists (AMT), National Health Career Association (CCMA), National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA), or National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA). • Basic Life Support Certification from American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) required.
Professional Experience Requirements:
• Possess at least one year of full-time experience as a Medical Assistant, Certified. • Demonstrate possession of the competencies outlined in the Medical Assistant, Certified Advancement Worksheet through their application and interview.
