Who We Are Metrolina Nephrology Associates is the region's most recognized and experienced private practice nephrology group. The practice has been on the forefront of the treatment and management of kidney disease for more than 50 years and is known as an organization of kidney care thought leaders. We are 40 Nephrologists and 40 Advanced Practice Providers delivering care over a 10-county area in the Charlotte metro area. We are committed to providing high value care to our 35,000 patients. Our extensive network of providers, locations, organization and commitment allows our practice to deliver care in an atmosphere that is personal, patient centered, and compassionate. Job Overview A non-exempt position responsible for providing selected clinical and administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the medical office and optimal patient care management. Duties will be assigned to the MA 1 in accordance with North Carolina laws and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) governing such action and activities. Job Responsibilities Daily clinics are prepared for in advance Identifies PAM; PHQ-9 Patients Completes patient work ups to include: Vital Signs Weight Updating PMH Medication reconciliation Allergies Administers Intradermal, IM and Subcutaneous injections Performs hemocues and blood sugar checks Updates pharmacy information Works prescription refills according to practice policy Performs precise capillary phlebotomy Obtains O2 Sats as needed Able to navigate the EMR and PM systems daily cleaning and refrigeration temperature logs eye wash station log medication sample logs Maintains inventory of clinical and administrative supplies Maintains CPR certification Complies with legal and regulatory requirements Completes annual OSHA and HIPAA Training Completes required CEU's Schedules appointments Demonstrates an understanding of Immunization, Lab Order, Charge and Problem entry as well as their associated workflows. Reviews encounter forms for orders Patient education is distributed at each visit as needed Follows operating instructions and notifies appropriate personnel of any malfunctions. Cleans and prepares exam rooms prior to and in between patient appointments Complies with legal regulations as assigned Greets and guides patients through their visits Confirms patient identity with 2 identifiers (Name, DOB) Answers and processes incoming calls. Identifies and distributes patient educational materials

Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance is an essential function of this position. The ability to consistently adhere to scheduled work hours and fulfill job responsibilities in a timely manner is critical to the success of the role and the overall operations of the team.
