Our clinics combine immediate urgent care with ongoing primary care, supported by a team of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and dedicated staff committed to patient well-being. Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Certified Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in medical assisting across various specialties, including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, and outpatient settings. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to patient-centered care while gaining valuable experience in diverse clinical environments. Duties Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, vital signs measurement, and documentation of medical histories. Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary supplies and equipment are ready for patient appointments. Perform phlebotomy procedures and collect specimens accurately for laboratory testing. Support medication administration under supervision and assist with wound care or dermatological procedures. Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems) efficiently, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of patient encounters. Provide patient education on treatment plans, medication usage, and post-visit instructions. Maintain compliance with infection control protocols and safety standards within clinical settings. Support administrative tasks such as appointment scheduling, insurance verification, and medical record management. Qualifications Certified Medical Assistant credential from an accredited program is required. Prior experience in medical office settings in primary and/ or urgent care is highly preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and pharmacology essential for accurate documentation and patient care. Proficiency with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and EMR/EHR management tools. Athena a Plus Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory to ensure readiness for emergency situations. Strong patient service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and compassionately with diverse populations. Experience in phlebotomy, medication administration, and medical documentation enhances candidacy. Familiarity with ICD coding, medical records management, and outpatient/inpatient clinical procedures is advantageous.
