Job Description

Benefits begin on day one and include: Day one medical, dental, and vision coverage Pre-paid tuition through Future Forward A predictable schedule Paid time off and paid parental leave Retirement savings with company match Well-being and mental health resources What You'll Do Perform and document patient intake, including vital signs and medical history Prepare patients and charts for provider visits Assist providers with OBGYN exams, procedures, and treatments within scope Administer medications and immunizations as ordered Perform venipuncture, specimen collection, and in-office lab testing Track and report lab results; complete required quality control documentation Accurately document care and code visits, labs, and procedures in the EMR Support referrals, scheduling, registration, and check-out as needed Reinforce patient education and self-care instructions using clear language Collaborate with providers and team members to improve workflows and patient experience Maintain required competencies, certifications, and ongoing education A patient-focused CMA passionate about women's health Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented OBGYN clinic Commitment to safety, accountability, and service excellence Alignment with Novant Health's mission, values, and
People Credo What We're Looking For Education :
High School Diploma or GED, required. Candidates will provide proof of current certification from one of the approved certifying registries including:
  • CMA with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
  • CCMA with the National Health Career Association (NHA)
  • RMA with the American Medical Technologists (AMT)
  • American Registry of Medical Assistants (NHCWA)
  • National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT)
  • National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
  • American Allied Health (AAH) RMA with the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA).
If a candidate is not currently certified, they must obtain certification or registration by the end of the sixth month of their hire and sign an education agreement, required.
Experience :
Previous work in a medical office, preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Current certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire as CMA, RMA or CCMA, required. Current State Drivers License (Palliative Care Only), required.
