Position Overview Are you a compassionate, detail-oriented Medical Assistant who thrives in a fast-paced clinical setting? The Medical Assistant (PRN) supports efficient, patient-centered care by triaging patients, collecting and documenting clinical information, and assisting providers within scope of practice in our urgent care clinics. Key Responsibilities Greet and escort patients from the waiting room to treatment areas Create a calm, respectful, and supportive patient experience Perform triage, including vital signs and basic assessments Collect and document health history, medications, allergies, and social/family history Accurately enter patient information into the electronic medical record Maintain patient privacy and follow HIPAA privacy and security standards Assist providers with patient care tasks within scope (physicals, splinting, procedures, etc.) Assist with waived lab testing, drug screens, blood alcohol testing, spirometry, and specimen handling Support clinic operations (inventory, cleaning, room setup, equipment logs, basic maintenance) Assist with telehealth triage and patient discharge as needed Use de-escalation skills and professionalism in high-stress situations Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required 1-3 years of experience with direct patient contact preferred Strong computer skills and comfort using an electronic medical record Ability to multitask, stay organized, and maintain accuracy and attention to detail Knowledge of healthcare safety and compliance standards (HIPAA, OSHA, blood borne pathogens, infection control) Ability to follow clinical protocols and manufacturer instructions for waived lab testing CNA or Medical Assistant certification preferred, but not required Ability to meet physical demands of the role: frequent standing and walking; light lifting up to 20lbs; reaching, stooping, crouching, pushing, and pulling (with reasonable accommodations as needed) What We re Looking For Compassion, empathy, integrity, and strong customer service skills Ability to build trust quickly with patients and coworkers Sound judgment and consistent adherence to safety and legal requirements Positive attitude, initiative, adaptability, and proactive problem-solving Ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment Cultural sensitivity and responsiveness to a diverse community
