Job Summary Mass General Brigham Rheumatology is seeking a Per Diem Medical Assistant to join a highly collaborative, tight-knit clinical team supporting two outpatient sites in Dover and Portsmouth, NH. This role is ideal for an experienced Medical Assistant who enjoys variety, teamwork, and a strong patient-centered environment. You'll support a busy rheumatology practice with 4 providers, 1 LPN, 3 Medical Assistants, including 1 Lead MA, working within a supportive group known for long tenure, strong teamwork, and a culture of teaching and mentorship. During onboarding and training, hours will be consistent and structured to support learning and ramp-up. Once fully trained, the position transitions to per diem coverage, primarily supporting time off, vacations, and clinic needs—typically around 1 day per week on average. Shift Hours:
8:00 AM- 4:30 PM/ 8:30 AM
- 5:00 PM Schedule released typically about 1 month in advance Job Description Summary (Role Overview) The Medical Assistant supports healthcare teams by providing both clinical and administrative assistance under the direction of providers.
- Assist with patient intake, rooming, and preparation for exams
- Obtain and document vital signs, weight, height, and relevant medical history
- Support providers during examinations and clinical procedures
- Assist patients by explaining basic instructions, treatments, medications, and care guidance
- Manage patient flow to support efficient clinic operations
- Perform administrative tasks including phone coverage, documentation support, chart prep and coordination with other departments
- Serve as a supportive team member and assist onboarding or training of junior Medical Assistants when needed Qualifications Education High School Diploma or equivalent required Associate's Degree in Medical Assisting preferred Experience cannot be substituted for education Licenses & Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA or equivalent) preferred Immunization administration experience or certification preferred (or equivalent supervised experience) Experience 1-2 years of direct Medical Assistant experience or healthcare clinical support required Additional Job Details (if applicable) Remote Type Onsite Work Location 10 Members Way Scheduled Weekly Hours 0 Employee Type Per Diem Work Shift Day (United States of America) Pay Range $20.
