Job Description

Overview We are a privately owned family practice seeking a reliable and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. This position supports our providers in delivering quality patient care through both clinical and administrative duties. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, empathetic, and thrives in the personalized setting of a small family practice. A four-day work week option is available for qualified candidates. Highly motivated new graduates are welcome to apply.
Responsibilities Clinical Duties:
Prepare patients for examination by taking vital signs, documenting medical history, and explaining procedures Assist providers during exams and minor in-office procedures Administer injections, perform EKGs, and collect specimens for lab testing Perform basic laboratory tests and ensure proper handling and documentation of specimens Conduct routine patient screenings and record findings in the EMR Submit prior authorizations for medications, imaging, or procedures as needed Clean and stock exam rooms between patients and at the end of each day Provide patient education on medications, procedures, and overall health maintenance
Administrative Duties:
Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and coordinate follow-ups Answer phone calls and respond to patient inquiries in a professional and friendly manner Handle insurance verifications and referrals Accurately update and maintain electronic medical records (EMR) Assist with billing support through accurate documentation and basic coding Assist providers during exams and minor in-office procedures Conduct routine patient screenings and record findings in the EMR Submit prior authorizations for medications, imaging, or procedures as needed Clean and stock exam rooms between patients and at the end of each day Provide patient education on medications, procedures, and overall health maintenance Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required Completion of a Medical Assistant program or certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) preferred Experience in a family medicine or primary care setting is a plus Experience with vaccine program management, including inventory and reporting, is strongly preferred Proficient in EMR systems Strong communication, organizational, and multitasking skills Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Continuing education may be paid for by the office
Benefits:
