Job Description

Job Summary Neighborhood Medical Center is seeking a motivated, reliable, and patient-focused Medical Assistant (MA) to join our growing primary care practice. The Medical Assistant will play a critical role in supporting physicians and ensuring efficient clinic operations. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and committed to delivering excellent patient care. Experience in primary care is strongly preferred. Responsibilities Room patients efficiently and accurately obtain vital signs. Perform medication reconciliation and update patient histories. Prepare examination rooms and ensure proper stocking of supplies. Assist physicians with patient care, procedures, and clinical documentation. Coordinate referrals, prior authorizations, and specialist appointments. Review and respond to patient messages, refill requests, and telephone calls. Obtain and document point-of-care testing results. Administer vaccines and injections as permitted by state regulations. Manage laboratory orders, specimen collection, and result tracking. Perform pre-visit chart preparation and identify outstanding preventive care needs. Schedule patient appointments and coordinate follow-up care. Maintain accurate documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR). Ensure compliance with HIPAA and infection control standards. Collaborate with physicians and staff to improve patient flow and clinic efficiency. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) preferred. Experience in primary care, internal medicine, family medicine, or urgent care strongly preferred. Proficiency with EMR systems (Epic experience preferred). Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus. Preferred Skills Experience with prior authorizations and referrals. Experience with preventive care outreach and quality measures. Familiarity with chronic disease management (diabetes, hypertension, obesity, CKD). Ability to assist with pre-charting and care coordination. Comfortable handling a high-volume patient schedule. What We Offer Competitive salary based on experience. Paid time off and holidays. Pay:
$20.00 - $25.00 per hour
