About the
Role:
The Certified Medical Assistant plays a critical role in supporting healthcare providers in our Ambulatory Surgery Center by delivering high-quality clinical and administrative assistance. This position ensures efficient patient flow by preparing patients for examinations, recording vital signs, and assisting with procedures such as phlebotomy and other clinical tasks. The role demands a thorough understanding of medical terminology and general medical knowledge to accurately document patient information and communicate effectively with healthcare teams. Ultimately, this position contributes to a positive patient experience and supports the overall effectiveness of healthcare services in the facility.
Minimum Qualifications:
Current Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited organization. Proven experience in clinical tasks including vital signs measurement and phlebotomy. Strong knowledge of medical terminology and general medical procedures. Ability to work effectively with nurse practitioners and other healthcare professionals. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
Current BLS Certification Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working in a healthcare setting. Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems. ACLS Certification Training or experience in patient education and counseling.
Responsibilities:
Prepare patients for examination by taking and recording vital signs and medical histories. Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures. Perform clinical tasks such as drawing blood (phlebotomy) and administering basic patient care. Manage patient records, update medical charts, and ensure accurate documentation using medical terminology. Handle medical office communications, and perform general administrative duties as needed.
